The Romans d'Isonzo Civic Archaeological Museum is a place of learning and discovery, open to everyone: students, families and lovers of antiquity.
With hundreds of multimedia files, interactive virtual characters and animated maps, CMAR not only educates but also entertains, making history accessible and engaging for all ages. All digital applications are available in multiple languages, currently Italian, English and Slovenian, but can be implemented in additional languages, and meet the technical accessibility requirements for digital applications. The video projections in the central space are also available in an accessible, multilingual and subtitled version: the various options can be selected via a touch screen application.
Each section of the museum is also equipped with QR codes that provide access to accessible versions of the captions and further information on the funerary objects on display. A dedicated app with an audio guide for the visually impaired and blind visitors ensures an inclusive cultural experience, designed to share and enhance the heritage with the widest possible number of visitors.
The app also provides access to the contents of the graphic panels, available in audio, text and multilingual versions, which illustrate in detail the weapons and equipment of Lombard warriors and women, everyday objects, crafts, techniques and artistic expressions typical of this people.
