Museum

The Civic Archaeological Museum of Romans d'Isonzo (CMAR), located in Palazzo Candussi Pasiani, which also houses the Romans Civic Library, has undergone complete restoration and is now a unique place for promoting the cultural heritage of the area.

The museum not only preserves the artefacts found in the Lombard necropolis discovered here, but also displays traces of the Lombard presence in the surrounding areas, as well as evidence of the populations that settled there from Roman times until the early Middle Ages.

Alongside the rich analogue heritage, the exhibition is enhanced by an innovative digital display that offers an interactive and engaging experience for everyone.
The installation has been designed as an immersive and inclusive space equipped with interactive touch devices that allow visitors to travel through time and rediscover the history of this ancient people, their presence in Romans and their reign in the Italian peninsula, starting with their legendary journey from the northern lands to Italy in 568.
